ENA MSME 2017-07-19 10:15:01 <p><strong>New Delhi, July 19 (KNN) </strong>The contribution of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the total export volume of the country was able to touch the 50 per cent mark, Commerce and Industry Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed the Rajya Sabha earlier today.</p> <p>Citing figures, the Minister said that the share of exports from the Indian MSMEs was 43.42 per cent in 2013-14, this increased to 44.76 per cent in 2014-15. The data of 2015-16 says that the share has risen substantially to 49.86 per cent.</p> <p>The Minister further highlighted the steps taken by the government to encourage exports from the MSME sector.</p> <p>The Merchandise Exports from India Scheme that the government announced earlier as a part of the Foreign trade Policy provided the MSME exporters with incentives in terms of freely transferable Duty credit that can further be used to pay certain central duties and taxes.</p> <p>The Minister further mentioned the Niryat Bandhu Scheme of the government aiming to reach out to the new and potential exporters belonging to the MSME sector.</p> <p>Also schemes such as Export Promotion Capital Goods (EPCG), Duty Exemption and Remission, Advance Authorisation (AA), Duty Free Import Authorisation (DFIA), Duty Drawback (DBK), Advance Procurement/ Replenishment of Precious Metals from Nominated Agencies have facilitated the growth the Minister added. <strong> (With PIB Inputs) (KNN/ DA)</strong></p> 17581 http://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/msme/msme-exports-touches-50-per-cent-mark-of-total-export-volume-sitharaman 2017-07-19 10:15:01 knnindia.co.in
