ENA Sectors 2018-11-10 06:03:05 <p><strong>New Delhi, Nov 10 (KNN)</strong> Ashok Kumar Gupta, a retired IAS officer of the 1981-batch Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed as the new Chairperson of the Competition Commission of India (CCI).</p> <p>He has been replaced by Sudhir Mital, who was appointed in 2014.</p> <p>Gupta holds a Master of Philosophy in Defence and Strategic studies from Madras University. </p> <p>He is also a Post-Graduate in Public Administration from Syracuse University (USA).</p> <p>He has worked in various capacities in different Ministries and Departments including Defence, Health and Family Welfare, Industry and Commerce, Small Scale Industries, Urban Development, Personnel and Shipping.</p> <p>Fair trade regulator CCI said in a tweet, Appointments Committee of the Cabinet appoints Ashok Kumar Gupta IAS (TN :1981) (Retd) as Chairperson in Competition Commission of India. </p> <p>Under the Government of India, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, headed by the Prime Minister as its Chairman, decides appointments to several top posts.</p> <p>Gupta holds a Master of Philosophy in Defence and Strategic studies from Madras University. </p> <p>He is also a Post-Graduate in Public Administration from Syracuse University (USA).</p> <p>He has worked in various capacities in different Ministries and Departments including Defence, Health and Family Welfare, Industry and Commerce, Small Scale Industries, Urban Development, Personnel and Shipping.</p> 21267 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/sectors/ashok-kumar-gupta-is-the-new-chairman-for-cci 2018-11-10 06:03:05 knnindia.co.in
