ENA Sectors 2019-01-14 08:11:01 <p><strong>New Delhi, Jan 14 (KNN)</strong> Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) has sought comments on draft quality control order on aluminium foil under BIS Act, 2016.</p> <p>Under the order, aluminium alloy bare foil used for food packaging shall conform to the Indian Standard (IS: 15392) and use the Standard Mark under a license from the Bureau of Indian Standards.</p> <p>DIPP is in the process of issuing quality control order on aluminium foil.</p> <p>The Central Government, after consulting Bureau of Indian Standards, is of the opinion that it is necessary to pass the quality order in public interest.</p> <p>This order is applicable for import and manufacture for use within in India.</p> <p>BIS will be the certifying and enforcing authority for aluminium foil.
