ENA State 2019-08-21 07:07:38 <p><strong>Bhubaneswar, Aug 21 (KNN)</strong> The State-level executive committee on restructured National Bamboo Mission has approved an annual action plan of Rs 27.33 crore for development of bamboo sector.</p> <p>The move has been taken to increase the area under bamboo plantation in non-forest government and private land for supplementing farm income, contributing towards climate change resilience and making available the quality raw material for industries.</p> <p>This was said by AK Pathak, State Mission Director, Odisha Bamboo Development Agency (OBDA).</p> <p>It has been decided that only commercially viable species like Tulda, Vulgaries and Nutons would be planted, said Pathak.</p> <p>In addition farmers and artisans would be motivated to take up the bamboo plantation, he added.</p> <p>Besides this financial assistance of Rs 50,000 per hectare will be provided for bamboo plantation and growing over a period of three years.</p> <p><iframe frameborder="0" height="500" id="mgiframe" src="//mg.mgid.com/mghtml/framehtml/c/k/n/knnindia.co.in.338951.html" width="100%"></iframe></p> 23487 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/state/odisha-committee-on-national-bamboo-mission-approves-action-plan-of-rs-2733-crore 2019-08-21 07:07:38 knnindia.co.in
