Skill development training on fruit processing & value addition underway in Imphal

ENA State 2022-09-06 11:05:49 Imphal, Sept 6 (KNN) The Diocesan Social Service Society (DSSS) in association with the Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA), has launched a residential skill development training on fruit processing and value addition in Imphal. The primary aim of the programme is to motivate the farmers and to raise awareness on fruit processing and value addition with special focus on modern skill and technology apart from the existing traditional knowledge. <a href="https://bit.ly/3B9mZSj"><img alt="FOLLOW US on GOOGLE NEWS" src="https://knnindia.co.in//uploads/gallery/GoogleNews.jpg" style="border-style:solid; border-width:1px; height:95px; margin:1px; width:299px" /></a> The five-day training was inaugurated on Monday at the training hall of Diocesan Social Service Society, Mantripukhri. The training is being conducted under the aegis of Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North East Region (MOVCD-NER). Over 80 representatives from 11 FPCs under DSSS are participating in the training programme. DSSS Director, Reverend Father Biju Luckose and Owner of Meira Foods,Shubhra Devi Hanjabam were amongst those present at the inaugural ceremony. Addressing the gathering, Luckose said that under DSSS, eleven Farmer Producer Companies (FPCs) have been opened at different districts of the state and measures have been taken up to open two more FPCs. Diocesan Social Service Society is currently working in collaboration with around 5000 farmers across the State.
