Set up screening committee to identify MSMEs for iDEX challenge: RAI President

ENA Sectors 2022-11-28 12:51:58 New Delhi, Nov 28 (KNN) A screening committee must be set up to identify and support MSMEs in defence sector that could contribute to the iDEX challenge, suggested Rakesh Chhabra, President, Rai Industrial Area Association while addressing an Outreach Event on Mission DEFSPACE on Sunday. <a href="https://bit.ly/3B9mZSj"><img alt="FOLLOW US on GOOGLE NEWS" src="https://knnindia.co.in//uploads/gallery/GoogleNews.jpg" style="border-style:solid; border-width:1px; height:95px; margin:1px; width:299px" /></a> He spoke about more platforms and forums for collaboration between Industry and Academia and stressed that given the MSME contribution of 30% to Indias GDP, their participation and role in the fostering DEFSPACE is very important. The event was organized by FITT (Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer) and iDEX (Innovation for Defence Excellence). Its theme was to foster collaboration between Academia and Industry in the domain of Space and Defence technology. It involved presentation and discussion on iDEX funding schemes followed by a panel discussion on potential opportunity for startups, MSMEs and innovators in the domain of space technology. The outreach event enlightened the MSMEs and startups about the 75 challenges of Defence India Startup Challenge 8. Members and representatives of FITT and iDEX, Prof. Monika Aggarwal, CARE (Centre for Applied Research in Electronics) IIT Delhi, Anil Prakash, Director General, SatCom Industry Association were present on the occasion. Role of FITT in supporting and nurturing Startups on the iDEX challenges and other aspects of Technological innovations was also discussed.
