ENA State 2024-11-14 16:05:52 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Kolkata, Nov 14 (KNN)</strong> The state government of West Bengal is set to organise Synergy, a business conclave focused on strengthening the micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) sector in the Jalpaiguri and Alipurduar districts.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Scheduled for December 4 in Batabari, near the Gorumara National Park, this initiative aims to attract investments and foster economic growth in North Bengal.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Jalpaiguri District Magistrate Shama Parveen confirmed preparations are underway, emphasising the governments commitment to supporting local industries.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"> On December 4, Synergy for these two districts will be held at Batabari. We are making necessary preparations for the event, Parveen announced on Wednesday.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Launched as an annual district-level event, Synergy has emerged as a vital platform for encouraging investments across various sectors by fostering dialogue between government officials and local entrepreneurs.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">This year's event will focus on investment opportunities in the tea, tourism, and horticulture sectors, all of which are integral to the region's economy.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">According to administrative sources, Synergy will facilitate direct interactions between entrepreneurs and government officials, who will listen to industry concerns and seek prompt solutions. An official noted, If the business community faces any issues, appropriate steps will be taken to resolve them.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The initiative has received positive feedback from local business leaders. Kishor Marodia, General Secretary of the North Bengal National Chambers of Commerce and Industries, highlighted a key concern: the issuance of the Land Use Compatibility Certificate (LUCC).</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Obtaining the LUCC is crucial for construction. The Siliguri Jalpaiguri Development Authority now manages this process, but we are facing delays. This issue must be addressed, Marodia stated.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Bijoygopal Chakraborty, President of the Confederation of Indian Small Tea Growers' Associations, suggested that the government could explore the potential for homestay tourism in small tea plantations.
