ENA Global 2025-02-25 16:59:40 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>Pune, Feb 25 (KNN)</strong> India and the European Union (EU) hosted their first joint workshop on Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Technology in Pune.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Organised under the India-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) Working Group 2 on Green and Clean Energy Technologies, the workshop highlighted the growing strategic partnership between India and the EU in clean energy and electro-mobility.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Bringing together key policymakers, industry leaders, standardisation experts, and technical testing authorities, the event focused on harmonising EV charging standards and fostering collaborative research.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The workshop was co-organised by the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) and the European Commissions Joint Research Centre (JRC), with support from the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to the Government of India.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The workshop explored key themes such as the standardization of EV charging protocols, infrastructure requirements, communication interoperability, and future strategic directions in sustainable mobility for both regions.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Panel discussions also covered EV system testing capabilities and industry perspectives on deepening India-EU collaboration.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">A notable highlight was a visit to ARAIs advanced EV testing facilities, offering participants first-hand insights into Indias electro-mobility innovations.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">This workshop marks a milestone for the TTCs Working Group 2 and will be featured as a key achievement in the upcoming 2nd TTC Ministerial meeting in New Delhi on February 28, 2025.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Established in February 2023, the India-EU TTC serves as a strategic platform to enhance cooperation in trade, technology, and security.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Prominent attendees included Monoranjan Mohanty and Hafsa Ahmad from the PSAs office, Reji Mathai and Abhihit Mulay from ARAI, and Nitish Kumar Jain from the Bureau of Indian Standards.
