ENA State 2025-07-21 15:10:56 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Jul 21 (KNN) </strong>The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a loan of Rs 975.26 crore for the development of infrastructure across nine industrial areas in Tripura, a senior official confirmed on Monday.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Tripura Industrial Development Corporation (TIDC) Chairman Nabadal Banik stated that the project aims to build world-class industrial infrastructure, including industrial sheds, power substations, underground electric lines, fire service stations, and 34 roads. The implementation is underway, Banik told PTI.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The nine industrial zones covered under the initiative include areas in Bodhjungnagar, R K Nagar, Dukli, and AN Nagar.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Additionally, the state government has allocated land for setting up new industrial zones&mdash;127 acres in Santirbazar in South Tripura and 28 acres in Fatikroy in Unakoti district.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Banik noted that the TIDC has begun demarcation work in these new areas and is taking steps to ensure optimal use of industrial land.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">We are ensuring that no land allocated for industries remains unused for a long period of time, he said.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">To accommodate emerging entrepreneurs, TIDC has reclaimed 28 acres of land from 24 dormant industrial units. Banik also revealed a new initiative to promote the plywood industry in the state.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Currently, two plywood units are operational, and seven more are in various stages of planning.
