ENA State 2025-08-19 15:15:44 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Aug 19 (KNN)</strong> As many as 409 companies are operating in the Gujarat International Finance Tec City International Financial Services Centre (GIFT IFSC) as of July 31, 2025, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman informed Parliament on Monday.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">In a written reply in the Lok Sabha, Sitharaman said the number of firms in GIFT IFSC has grown nearly fivefold in under five years &mdash; from 82 on October 1, 2020, to 409 by July 2025. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">She noted that, alongside banking, asset management, and allied services, other segments of the financial ecosystem have also been enabled at the centre.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The minister pointed out that the government has introduced a series of policy measures to support GIFT IFSCs growth, including the establishment of the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) as a unified statutory regulator. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">To further improve ease of doing business, powers of the Development Commissioner under the Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Act, 2005, have been delegated to IFSCA. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The launch of a Single Window IT System (SWITS) has also been facilitated to streamline approvals for IFSC units.</span></p> <p><em><strong><span style="font-size:14px">(KNN Bureau)</span></strong></em></p> 43204 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/state/companies-in-gift-city-ifsc-cross-400-mark-in-july-2025-fm 2025-08-19 15:15:44 knnindia.co.in
