ENA State 2025-08-22 16:38:22 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Aug 22 (KNN)</strong> OpenAI, the company behind the AI chatbot ChatGPT, is planning to open a corporate office in New Delhi in the coming months, marking its formal entry into India, one of the worlds fastest-growing technology markets, according to Bloomberg.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The company has started hiring to expand its local team. Currently, OpenAI has only one employee in India, Pragya Misra, who leads public policy and partnerships.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The new office aims to strengthen OpenAIs presence in India, tapping into the countrys large pool of tech talent and its strategic role in global AI policy and innovation.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">India, with a population of 1.4 billion, has emerged as a key market for technology firms, offering opportunities as well as challenges due to regulatory changes and local market dynamics.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">OpenAI plans to build closer partnerships with the Indian government, businesses, and developer communities. The company has committed support to the federal governments USD 1.2 billion IndiaAI Mission, an initiative focused on developing large and small language models tailored to regional needs.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">This move reflects OpenAIs goal to ensure AI technologies are adapted to diverse cultural, linguistic, and policy contexts.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">India is already OpenAIs second-largest market for ChatGPT users, highlighting strong demand.
