ENA Global 2025-11-06 17:41:13 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><strong>New Delhi, Nov 6 (KNN)</strong> India has concluded two significant rounds of trade negotiations with Latin American partners, reinforcing its strategy to broaden economic cooperation and strengthen trade ties in the region.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">The ninth round of India Peru Trade Agreement negotiations was held in Lima from November 3 5, 2025, registering progress across key chapters, including trade in goods and services, rules of origin, technical barriers to trade, customs procedures, dispute settlement and critical minerals.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Perus Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Teresa Stella Mera G&oacute;mez reiterated Perus commitment to concluding the agreement in a timely manner, noting the synergies between both economies. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Vishvas Vidu Sapkal, Ambassador, India, highlighted Indias growth trajectory and emphasised opportunities for cooperation in sectors such as critical minerals, pharmaceuticals, automobiles, textiles and food processing. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Both sides agreed to hold intersessional discussions ahead of the next negotiating round in New Delhi in January 2026.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Separately, the third round of India Chile Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) talks took place in Santiago from October 27 30, 2025. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Negotiations addressed trade in goods and services, investment, rules of origin, intellectual property, SPS/TBT measures, economic cooperation and critical minerals. </span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to a timely conclusion of the CEPA to expand market access, strengthen supply chains and deepen economic engagement.</span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px">Indias ongoing negotiations with Peru and Chile reflect its broader objective of building durable, mutually beneficial partnerships in Latin America through comprehensive trade frameworks.</span></p> <p><em><strong><span style="font-size:14px">(KNN Bureau)</span></strong></em></p> 43999 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/global/india-advances-trade-talks-with-peru-chile-to-deepen-latin-american-economic-ties 2025-11-06 17:41:13 knnindia.co.in
