ENA Global 2025-12-17 16:06:32 <p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif"><strong>New Delhi, Dec 17 (KNN)</strong> Government think-tank NITI Aayog held a meeting with the Japan India Business Co-operation Committee (JIBCC) of the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) to deepen bilateral collaboration in aerospace manufacturing, investment facilitation and business environment reforms.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif"><strong>Growing Aerospace Ecosystem</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">The meeting was addressed by Arvind Virmani, Member, NITI Aayog. Highlighting Indias rapidly expanding aerospace ecosystem, Virmani pointed to the growth of manufacturing clusters in Karnataka, Telangana and Maharashtra.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">He also noted the emergence of over 1,300 Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT)-recognised aerospace enterprises across the country.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif"><strong>Opportunities for SMEs</strong> </span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">Discussions focused on opportunities for Japanese companies, particularly small and medium enterprises, to collaborate with Indian firms within established aerospace manufacturing clusters. </span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">Japanese participants were also encouraged to leverage incentives under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) and Drone PLI schemes for aerospace components, research and development.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif"><strong>Space Cooperation and Policy Reforms</strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">The meeting further underlined ongoing cooperation between the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) in areas such as lunar exploration, satellite navigation and X-ray astronomy. </span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">Recent reforms in Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) policies, tax rationalisation and facilitation measures were also highlighted as key enablers supporting Indias emergence as a competitive aerospace hub in the Asia-Pacific region.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif">The engagement reaffirmed the shared commitment of India and Japan to strengthening technology collaboration, building resilient supply chains and promoting sustainable economic growth through closer industry partnerships.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px"><span style="font-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif"><em><strong>(KNN Bureau)</strong></em></span></span><br /> </p> 44452 https://knnindia.co.in/news/newsdetails/global/niti-aayog-jibcc-discuss-strengthening-indiajapan-aerospace-cooperation 2025-12-17 16:06:32 knnindia.co.in
